Day 11

Matthew 6:16-18 (NKJV) 16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

There are certain things in the word of God that always come together. This morning it’s impossible to speak about fasting without giving an equal importance of it being done with prayer. Scripture teaches us that these two principles and values always go hand in hand if you want to see effectiveness. When one separates in prayer and fasting great things happen in our personal lives.  Fasting and prayer produce great things in the spiritual. Impossible things become possible! God moves in our circumstances and in our favor when we separate in prayer and fasting.

This is one of the principle keys to see Christ magnified and exalted in our lives and in our international ministry. Now more than ever God is calling us to consecrate ourselves in prayer and fasting as United Women in Ministry! I am sure that in this year 2013 we will face great challenges, that in the natural they may seem impossible. Things that maybe through the years have stopped us in advancing spiritually. My question is what are we going to do when this happens? What strategy or plan do we have? Or will we make the mistake of saying, “It can’t be done, I will never accomplish it, it’s impossible to see my situation change.” My prayer is that we will never tale this defeated attitude of failure! In order for Victory Outreach International to go to another level, we must first take our fasting and prayer to another level!!

Let’s remember that Victory Outreach wasn’t established from night to day or by coincidence. Being where we are has taken a lot of prayer and fasting! Thank God that these two values continue being priorities in us how they were in the beginning of our ministry in the life of our founders and elders.

Great word Silvia and great Q: What is stopping us from advancing spiritually and what are we going to do about it? I’ve learned the biggest lessons through my obstacles, and through each one God has challenged me to “rise up” above it. Fighting with our spiritual weapons takes determination, discipline and lots of faith!

Good morning! What a powerful word on the 40 day fast blog this morning! Thank you for that! I wont be telling any defeated tales but presenting things to God in prayer believing that what is seemingly impossible to man becomes vividly possible with God! And that through fasting and prayer we will begin to see that happen and be able to stick it out with joy and not a defeated attitude! Thank you, Sis Sylvia! Proud and blessed to serve in our region! And Sis Maira as well! Thank you!🙂

FASTING & PRAYER is the foundation to our spiritual life, its not church time, its my time with God to be able to defeat any obsticles that come my way. I want an open connection with God to hear his voice clearly, to be able to fight against those that are against me. prayer & fasting is a relationship with our God. we cannot function if we are not rooted in our foundation.
